Laurence Fox of GB News gives his take on the ‘right to life’ debate, and whether we are living in a truly free society, in the wake of the decision of Justice Roberts in the Court of Protection.
In her decision, Justice Roberts rejected the opinion of psychiatric experts that a fully conscious 19 year-old girl is of sound mind, ruling that the girl is mentally incapable of making decisions for herself, because she does not believe what the doctors say about her condition.
What’s more, the judge has denied her family the right to speak publically or to raise money for ST to go to Canada for experimental, life-saving treatment, as she wishes.
“In my judgement… ST is unable to make a decision for herself in relation to her future medical treatment, including the proposed move to palliative care, because she does not believe the information she has been given by her doctors.”
