So now we ban journalists?!
The BDF have reported on a case of New Zealand Police using Interpol to refuse an Australian journalist’s entry to New Zealand, in breach of the Interpol Constitution and in breach of New Zealand law.
Article 3 of Interpol’s constitution clearly states that:
“It is strictly forbidden for the Organization to undertake any intervention or activities of a political, military, religious or racial character“.
Interpol Constitution
What is more, Avi Yemini, an Australian national, was banned from entering New Zealand on the basis of character. Under New Zealand law, an Australian citizen can only be denied entry to New Zealand on the basis of character, if they have been convicted of a crime that carries a sentence of at least 12 months in prison. Yemini does have a conviction, but one which only imposed a fine and has never been sentenced to or spend a day in prison.
